Our Big Gig

The Friends of the Flaxmill Maltings organised an Open Mic Marathon as part of the Our Big Gig project on Friday 12th July.

It was a musical extravaganza showcasing local musical talent and giving everyone the chance to particpate in live music and workshops. It was hosted outside within the Flaxmill Maltings site so no hard hats were necessary! 30 musicians took part and everyone enjoyed the range of music from a saw trio to a Ukele orchestra and folk bands to solo artists.

There was a bar and BBQ provided by Shropshire Hogs and delicious cakes from Belagazoux Bakes.

Entry was free, as we received funding from Superact as part of their national Our Big Gig project

As well as the support from Superact, we were delighted that PRS for Music supported us by providing a 50% discount on our music license.
