The Friends of Flaxmill Maltings are running a social oral history project in Shrewsbury. The purpose of the project is to collect people’s stories, memories and impressions of the Flaxmill Maltings site.
We already have a number of individuals and groups with fascinating tales and anecdotes about the site and their involvement with it. The Project will record collect and share these stories for the future.
We are looking for volunteers to join the Oral History Team. We are particularly seeking those keen to undertake the current main roles as volunteer interviewers, recording oral histories about the Flaxmill Maltings. The interviews will be conducted in various locations and all training and equipment is provided. The attached volunteer role gives you more information.
As the project develops there will be opportunities for editors, audio typists and co-ordinators.
The first interviewer training takes place on Tuesday 4th and 11th December from 6.30 -9pm. Anyone who would like to volunteer on this project should email [email protected]by 5pm on Wednesday 28th November.
